Design Engineer based in Whitstable. Salary negotiable.
Our client, a leading manufacturing organisation, is on the lookout for a new Design Engineer to join the engineering department. Within the role, you will be responsible for the design of new products and concepts in-line with business requirements. As the successful Design Engineer, you will be involved in the creation, verification and preparation of detailed technical design drawings using CAD and Microsoft software packages.
Responsibilities
- Prepare manufacturing instructions as required for new products.
- Resolve potential manufacturing issues early on in the design stages of the product.
- Work closely with design briefs to resolve details and discrepancies or to prepare unusual and complex works.
- Have contact with internal and external customers during the design process.
- Provide a formal handover to the pre-production team.
Qualifications
- Ideally be qualified to HNC/HND or above in a relevant area.
- Ideally have experience with injection moulding, fibre optics and electrical connectors.
- Ideally have experience of FMEA processes and LEAN processes.
- Ideally have experience of CREO.
