Overview: We are partnering with a well‑established transport and distribution business seeking a commercially focused freight professional to support growth within their forwarding division. This role combines hands‑on freight forwarding with proactive business development and is suited to someone who enjoys both operational and commercial aspects of the industry.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage day‑to‑day freight forwarding operations across air, sea, and road
- Handle quotations, pricing, and supplier negotiations
- Arrange and oversee shipments from enquiry through to delivery
- Liaise with carriers, agents, and customers to ensure smooth movement of goods
- Generate new business opportunities through outbound activity and networking
- Build relationships with logistics managers and supply chain contacts
- Identify and convert ad‑hoc freight requirements into ongoing business
- Manage and grow your own pipeline and client base
- Work closely with internal teams to maintain service standards
- Develop and present a structured plan for business growth
About you:
- Experience within freight forwarding, logistics, or transport
- Solid understanding of import/export processes and multi‑modal freight
- Commercially aware with a proactive approach to business development
