Location: Edenbridge
Salary: Competitive DOE
Hours: 8.30am – 5.00pm
Permanent | Full-time

The Role

We are looking for a commercially minded and analytical Purchasing and Procurement Coordinator to join our team. This is a hands‑on role combining purchasing administration, data analysis and supplier communication. You don't need to be an experienced procurement professional or a strategic buyer - we're more interested in someone who is analytical, commercially curious, confident with data and has the initiative to pick up the phone and ask questions. You'll be working with large volumes of purchasing data, helping the business understand what they’re buying, from whom, how much they’re spending and where there may be opportunities to improve cost, availability and efficiency.

What you'll be doing

  • Managing and analysing large volumes of purchasing and product data.
  • Working with spreadsheets containing thousands of rows of data to identify trends, discrepancies and opportunities.
  • Raising and processing purchase orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Reviewing purchasing requirements and ensuring orders are placed at the right time.
  • Liaising with suppliers regarding orders, availability, lead times and pricing.
  • Monitoring outstanding orders and following up with suppliers where required.
  • Maintaining accurate purchasing and supplier records.
  • Comparing pricing and identifying opportunities to reduce purchasing costs.
  • Supporting the wider purchasing/procurement function with reporting and analysis.
  • Using data to highlight potential cost savings, purchasing trends and areas for improvement.
  • Building positive relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Taking ownership of issues and seeing them through to resolution.

The commercial side

This role isn't about coming in with years of supplier negotiation experience. We want someone who has commercial instinct and initiative. You'll have the opportunity to develop your supplier management and negotiation skills as you grow into the role.

About you

  • Highly analytical and comfortable working with large volumes of data.
  • Confident using Excel and spreadsheets to analyse information.
  • Accurate and detail-focused.
  • Organised and able to manage multiple purchasing requirements.
  • Commercially aware and naturally curious about costs and value.
  • Confident communicating with suppliers by phone and email.
  • Proactive and willing to pick up the phone rather than simply sending an email.
  • A good problem solver who looks for solutions rather than waiting to be told what to do.
  • Comfortable working independently and taking ownership.
  • Keen to develop their career within purchasing, procurement or supply chain.

Experience

You may have worked in: Purchasing Procurement Buying Supply Chain Purchasing Administration Procurement Administration Stock or Inventory Supply Chain Coordination Data Analysis Commercial Administration

Why join?

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to develop their career within purchasing and procurement. You'll gain exposure to purchasing data, suppliers, commercial decision-making and cost‑saving initiatives while working within a supportive team. If you're someone who enjoys looking at data, spotting something that doesn't look right and thinking "I wonder if we could do this better?", we'd like to hear from you.
