The Role

As Buyer, you will be responsible for ensuring materials and services are available to meet business requirements while maintaining strong supplier relationships and achieving commercial objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process and expedite purchase orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Manage supplier relationships and resolve shortages, delays, quality concerns, and invoice queries.
  • Expedite outstanding orders to achieve on-time delivery.
  • Monitor supplier performance, quality standards, and service levels.
  • Negotiate pricing, lead times, and commercial agreements.
  • Maintain optimum inventory levels while supporting operational demand.
  • Produce purchasing and performance reports using Excel.
  • Maintain accurate supplier and product data within procurement systems.
  • Support internal departments with purchasing requirements.
  • Identify and deliver cost-saving opportunities.
  • Assist with sourcing and onboarding new suppliers.

About You

  • Minimum 3 years' purchasing experience, ideally within manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and procurement processes.
  • Experience with Business Central would be advantageous.
  • Strong Excel and analytical skills.
  • Confident negotiator with excellent communication skills.
  • Commercially aware, organised, and detail focused.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
