Accountant Daventry Salary: £19.49 - £21.03 per hour DOE Full Time: 37.5 Hours Per Week Hybrid Working (2 Days Remote, 3 Days Onsite) Temporary Assignment Until 24 December 2026 Preferred Start Date: 14 September 2026 Morgan Jones is recruiting on behalf of a leading engineering and manufacturing organisation seeking a Qualified or Part-Qualified Accountant to join its finance team on a temporary basis.
The Role
This is a varied accounting position offering responsibility across financial reporting, payroll accounting, lease accounting and month-end activities. You will work closely with finance stakeholders to ensure accurate reporting, compliance and financial control.
Responsibilities
- Manage lease accounting activities and support quarterly audits
- Process payroll journals, reconciliations and reporting
- Complete monthly and quarterly corporate reporting requirements
- Prepare PAYE Settlement Agreement (PSA) returns
- Analyse and report Profit in Inventory (PII) variances
- Manage the month-end close process for a key operational site
- Prepare review files and financial submissions
- Conduct and present balance sheet reviews
- Prepare annual tax pack information
- Investigate financial variances and ensure data integrity
- Support and improve internal financial controls
- Communicate financial findings and recommendations to stakeholders
Requirements
- Qualified or Part-Qualified Accountant
- Strong Excel skills are essential
- Experience within financial reporting and reconciliations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders
- Knowledge of Oracle, Power BI or Power Query would be advantageous
