Our client is a well-established precision engineering manufacturer supplying high-quality components to a range of industries. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced CNC Setter/Operator to strengthen their machine shop team.
The Role
You will be responsible for setting and operating CNC machinery to achieve production targets while maintaining exceptional quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and operate Mori Seiki, Muratec and Citizen CNC machines
- Carry out machine changeovers and production runs
- Work from engineering drawings, works orders and material specifications
- Set and operate lathes and machining centres using Fanuc and Mitsubishi control systems
- Modify and create CNC programmes as required
- Produce components to strict tolerances and quality standards
- Complete inspections using micrometres, Verniers, height gauges and other measuring equipment
- Record quality and production data accurately
- Conduct daily machine checks and routine maintenance activities
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards in line with 5S principles
- Adhere to all health, safety and quality procedures
What We Need from You
- GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths
- Relevant engineering apprenticeship
- Minimum three years' CNC setting and operating experience
- Previous manufacturing environment experience
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Good communication, literacy and numeracy skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Flexible approach to shift work
Desirable Experience
- CNC programming qualification
- Fanuc and Mitsubishi controls experience
- Knowledge of Mori Seiki, Citizen and Muratec machinery
