Lecturer in Plumbing in Bromley

Are you an experienced Plumbing Lecturer? Do you have relevant teaching qualifications and are looking for a part‑time role with an established college?

Salary: Dependent on experience. Hours: Part‑time, 24 hours per week. Location: Bromley. Contract type: Temporary initially until the 10th July 2026, however, almost certainly to extend into the summer holidays.

Responsibilities for the role of Plumbing Lecturer:

• Deliver engaging, practical and classroom‑based lessons in plumbing across a range of levels and qualifications.
• Plan, prepare and assess learning materials in line with awarding body requirements and curriculum standards.
• Support and monitor student progress through regular assessment, feedback and one‑to‑one guidance.
• Demonstrate safe working practices and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within workshops and classrooms.
• Maintain workshop equipment, tools and materials to ensure a safe and effective learning environment.
• Track attendance, punctuality and learner performance, implementing interventions where required.
• Provide pastoral support and promote positive learner behaviour and professionalism.
• Prepare learners for employment within the plumbing and construction industry, including developing practical skills and industry knowledge.
• Liaise with employers and support work placement opportunities where applicable.
• Participate in curriculum development, quality assurance processes and departmental meetings.
• Ensure all teaching activities comply with safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion policies.
• Keep up to date with current plumbing industry standards, regulations and teaching practices through continuous professional development.

Specification for the role of Plumbing Lecturer:

• Previous experience in a relevant teaching/training role is essential.
• NVQ or equivalent Level 3 Plumbing and heating Assessors Award, minimum; teaching experience at Level 3 T Level desirable or Level 3 diplomas.
• At least a Level 2 Literacy & Numeracy standard is required.
• Able to deliver to students of all levels and abilities, using flexible and innovative methods of delivery as required.
• Willing to undertake any training connected with the post and to update own CPD.
• Good sickness/attendance record in current or previous employment, college or school as appropriate (excluding absences resulting from disability).
• Ideally, have previous relevant work experience in industry/commerce within a specialist area.
• Preferably hold an assessment qualification (e.g. D32/D33 A1) or TAQA (or willingness to work towards).
• Ideally, have a sound understanding of Further Education Methodology.
