About the Role
Our Client is seeking an experienced Procurement & Supply Chain Manager to play a key role in supporting ambitious growth plans within a thriving manufacturing environment.
This is a strategic leadership position responsible for overseeing procurement, supplier management, inventory control, and supply chain performance across the business.
You will lead procurement activities from sourcing and supplier negotiations through to stock management and supply chain optimisation, ensuring the business receives high-quality goods and services in a cost-effective and timely manner.
In addition, you will be responsible for managing the Stores function, ensuring operational efficiency and the integrity of stock control systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned to business objectives.
- Manage procurement activities for raw materials, goods, services, and manufacturing resources.
- Source, evaluate, negotiate, and manage relationships with suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance to ensure quality, reliability, and value.
- Oversee purchasing processes, approvals, purchase orders, and delivery schedules.
- Manage procurement budgets and support cost reduction initiatives.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks to maintain continuity of supply.
- Work closely with operational teams to understand requirements and support business growth.
- Monitor inventory and stock control systems to maximise efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and company requirements.
- Analyse procurement and supply chain performance through KPI reporting.
- Stay informed of market trends and industry developments.
About You
- Proven experience working as a Procurement Manager, Supply Chain Manager, or in a similar leadership role.
- Strong supplier negotiation and relationship management experience.
- Thorough understanding of procurement and supply chain best practice.
- Experience managing inventory and stock control systems.
- Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and people management abilities.
- Degree qualified or equivalent experience.
- CIPS qualification or working towards professional procurement qualifications would be advantageous.
- Strong IT skills and experience using procurement systems.
