We are looking for an Animal Technician to work in Edinburgh on a temporary contract of 8‑12 months. The position offers a salary of £12.71 per hour and requires full‑time commitment on a weekly rota that includes some weekend work.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to and monitor the welfare of the animals closely.
  • Clean animal cages and all tools thoroughly, following strict hygiene procedures.
  • Feed and attend to the general well‑being of the animals.
  • Carry out weaning procedures.
  • Pack orders according to customers’ requests.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of an efficient Quality Management System.
  • Perform other duties as deemed reasonable.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrate accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Have good communication skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions.
  • Be flexible, patient, courteous, and willing to acquire new skills and knowledge.
  • Work well under strict hygiene conditions.
  • Hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
  • Possess experience in a laboratory setting.
