Lecturer in Engineering (Fabrication & Welding)

Location: Worksop Salary: Up to Β£36,413 per annum Contract: Temporary for 3 Months Hours: Full Time, 37 Hours per Week

The Opportunity

Our client is seeking a skilled Engineering professional to join their team as a Lecturer in Fabrication & Welding.

This is an excellent opportunity to share your industry expertise with the next generation of engineers, whether you already have teaching experience or are looking to transition from industry into education.

Working within a supportive learning environment, you will play a key role in developing students' technical knowledge, practical skills, and employability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver and assess Fabrication & Welding programmes in line with curriculum requirements.
  • Plan and prepare engaging lessons and practical learning activities.
  • Monitor student progress and provide academic and pastoral support.
  • Prepare learners for progression into employment, apprenticeships, or higher-level study.
  • Set and review learner targets through electronic individual learning programmes (e ILPs).
  • Support work experience and employability initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate learner records, enrolments, registrations, and examination claims.
  • Ensure all teaching activities meet awarding body and organisational standards.
  • Undertake associated administrative duties as required.

  • Previous experience within Fabrication and/or Welding.
  • Level 1-3 Trade Qualifications or equivalent.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to motivate and support learners to achieve their goals.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • A professional, proactive approach with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to quickly adapt and contribute within an established team.
