Our client, a respected professional services organisation, is seeking an experienced HR Manager to lead HR operations and support senior leadership. This role suits a confident HR professional with experience in large organisations (600+ employees) who can balance strategic input with hands-on operational delivery. The successful candidate will hold a CIPD Level 7 qualification, have strong employment law knowledge, and understand the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS). You'll oversee HR processes, employee relations, compliance, and office operations while acting as a trusted partner to Directors.
Responsibilities
- Advise Directors on employment law, HR policy and legislative changes
- Manage complex ER cases, including disciplinaries, grievances and performance
- Oversee HR administration and support the development of the HR Administrator
- Lead on salary reviews, redundancies and organisational changes
- Ensure compliance with CIS, Right to Work and employment documentation
- Maintain accurate HR records, job descriptions and appraisal processes
- Monitor attendance, sickness and performance data; produce management reports
- Support smooth day-to-day office operations and staff services
- Promote organisational values and consistent HR practice across offices
Requirements
Essential
- CIPD Level 7 qualification
- Proven experience as an HR Manager
- Experience in a large organisation (600+ employees)
- Strong, up-to-date employment law knowledge
- Understanding of the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS)
- Confident handling of complex employee relations
- Excellent communication, organisation and decision-making skills
- Ability to influence senior leaders and maintain confidentiality
Desirable
- Experience in construction, engineering or professional services
- HR systems and reporting experience
- Experience supporting change or HR improvement projects
This role requires flexibility, initiative and strong communication skills.
