About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Painter and Decorator to join their Estates and Facilities team on a temporary basis. This varied role will involve maintaining and improving buildings, fixtures, fittings and internal finishes across a busy and secure environment. Working as part of a skilled maintenance team, you will undertake both planned and reactive works, ensuring facilities remain safe, compliant and presented to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out painting and decorating works across the site
- Repair and maintain building fabric, fixtures and fittings
- Complete planned preventative and reactive maintenance tasks
- Undertake basic cross-trade works including carpentry, glazing and plumbing repairs
- Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs
- Assist with refurbishment and improvement projects
- Maintain accurate records of completed work and materials used
- Escort contractors in secure areas when required
- Adhere to all health and safety, compliance and security procedures
- Work at height using appropriate access equipment when necessary
- Travel between sites as required
- Participate in the out-of-hours call-out rota when required
What We're Looking For
- Recognised apprenticeship or approved training scheme
- City & Guilds Part II, NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification
- Previous experience within painting and decorating or a building maintenance environment
- Multi-trade maintenance experience advantageous
- Strong understanding of health and safety procedures
- Good communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Full UK manual driving licence
- Own tools and PPE
- Computer literate
- Standard DBS is essential for this role
