About the Role: We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a skilled Maintenance Engineer. You will plan, monitor, and carry out maintenance and repairs on machinery, equipment, and buildings, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Schedule and maintain the Site Preventative Maintenance Programme
  • Undertake preventative maintenance and condition monitoring checks
  • Minimise downtime by efficiently handling breakdowns and repairs
  • Complete production documentation and handover processes
  • Monitor machinery performance and identify improvement opportunities
  • Ensure compliance with risk assessments, method statements, and permits
  • Troubleshoot and repair electro/mechanical packaging machinery
  • Maintain building systems and ripening rooms
  • Train production employees on machinery and equipment
  • Perform general building maintenance and maintain asset registers
  • Monitor contractor work and report misuse or malpractice

Candidate Requirements:

  • City & Guilds qualification or equivalent in a mechanical subject
  • 17th Edition electrical qualification
  • Formal Health & Safety training certificate
  • Full driving licence
  • Proven experience in maintenance roles
  • Knowledge of HSE systems, COSHH regulations, and CDM regulations
  • Ability to work at height and in confined spaces
  • Strong understanding of power tools and general repairs
  • Working knowledge of MS Office
