A growing and well-established manufacturing business based in Sevenoaks is looking to recruit a Workshop Assistant to join their expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a small, skilled workshop environment where your practical ability and attention to detail will be highly valued.
The Role
Working within a close-knit workshop team, you will be responsible for the fabrication and assembly of specialist components using fibreglass materials. The role is hands-on and requires precision, accuracy, and strong practical problem-solving skills.
- Measuring, marking, and cutting materials accurately
- Assembling and bolting components (non-welding environment)
- Working from drawings and measurements
- Handling and manoeuvring heavier materials safely
- Maintaining high standards of workmanship and efficiency
About You
We’re looking for someone with a solid practical background who enjoys working with their hands and takes pride in producing accurate work.
Essential
- 1-3 years' workshop or site-based experience
- Strong numerical and measuring skills
- Practical mindset with good problem-solving ability
- Physically capable of manual handling
- Willingness to learn specialist fabrication techniques
Highly Desirable
- Carpentry background (particularly suited to this environment)
- Experience with fibreglass
- General fabrication or workshop experience
- Experience working in small teams
