The Role

As a Senior Electrical Building Services Design Engineer, you will lead the electrical design and delivery of hyperscale data centre projects, ensuring designs are technically robust, commercially viable, and delivered in line with programme requirements. You will play a key role in managing the electrical design process, procurement activities, multidisciplinary coordination and client engagement throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the Electrical Design team across multiple projects
  • Produce and review electrical designs, schematics, calculations and technical documentation
  • Deliver electrical building services designs for hyperscale data centre projects
  • Manage and coordinate the M&E design and procurement process
  • Ensure compliance with UK regulations, industry standards and CDM requirements
  • Complete and review electrical engineering calculations
  • Coordinate designs with mechanical, structural and architectural teams
  • Attend client meetings, workshops and design reviews
  • Manage project budgets, schedules and resource allocation
  • Respond to RFIs, technical submissions and design queries
  • Support business development and identify new project opportunities
  • Provide mentoring and technical leadership to junior engineers
  • Support the development of company standards and best practice

About You

  • Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
  • ACIBSE essential, MCIBSE desirable
  • Significant experience within Electrical Building Services Design
  • Proven experience working on hyperscale data centre projects
  • Experience managing M&E design and procurement activities
  • Strong understanding of critical power infrastructure and mission‑critical environments
  • Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proven project leadership experience
  • Full UK driving licence desirable
