About the Role

Morgan Jones is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our client for a Curriculum Lead – Animal Care & Horticulture.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Lecturer, Course Leader, or curriculum specialist looking to take the next step into operational leadership.

Working within a successful Further Education environment, you will combine leadership responsibilities with a small teaching commitment, helping to shape curriculum delivery, improve learner outcomes, and support staff development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate and develop a team of lecturers, assessors and support staff.
  • Drive curriculum quality, compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Manage performance, staff development reviews and coaching activities.
  • Support curriculum planning, timetabling and resource allocation.
  • Monitor student attendance, progress, achievement and retention.
  • Lead self-assessment and quality assurance processes.
  • Ensure compliance with awarding body and regulatory requirements.
  • Deliver high-quality teaching and tutorial support.
  • Build relationships with employers, schools and external partners.
  • Promote inclusive learning and effective learner support strategies.

About You

To be successful, you will have

  • Experience within Animal Care, Land Based Studies, Plant Sciences or a related discipline.
  • A recognised Level 5 teaching qualification or above.
  • Strong knowledge of Further Education quality assurance and performance management.
  • Experience using data to drive learner achievement and curriculum improvement.
  • Excellent leadership, coaching and communication skills.
  • Level 2 English and Maths or willingness to achieve. An Assessor Award (A1/CAVA) would be advantageous.
