Location: Rotherham, South Yorkshire Salary: Up to £25,456 Hours: Full-Time Contract: Permanent

Our Client is looking for a dependable and proactive Caretaker to help create a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained environment for students, staff, and visitors.

This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days are the same.

You'll support the smooth running of the campus through site maintenance, health and safety checks, room setup, deliveries, and building security.

The position operates on a shift rota covering mornings and afternoons.

  • What You'll Be Doing
  • Opening, closing, and securing buildings as part of a shift rota
  • Carrying out routine site inspections and basic maintenance tasks
  • Supporting a clean, safe, and organised environment across the campus
  • Removing waste and ensuring communal areas remain tidy
  • Keeping corridors, walkways, and fire exits clear and accessible
  • Setting up rooms and moving furniture for lessons, events, and meetings
  • Receiving deliveries and distributing items across the site
  • Reporting hazards and supporting health and safety procedures
  • Assisting during emergency situations and evacuation procedures
  • Providing First Aid support when required

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in a caretaking or maintenance within an educational setting is essential
  • A current Enhanced DBS certificate
  • Level 2 English and Maths qualification, or willingness to work towards achieving this
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to manage a range of practical tasks and prioritise effectively
  • A reliable, calm, and solution-focused approach
