This role requires a confident project professional capable of taking full ownership of projects from order through to successful delivery, ensuring technical accuracy, commercial control and an excellent client experience.
The Project Manager will coordinate all phases of electrical and control system projects, including design, engineering, installation, commissioning and supplier management. Projects may involve control panels, PLC and SCADA systems, switchgear interfaces and power-related installations. This is a full-time, site-based role in Rochester.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing electrical and control system projects from order through to completion
- Delivering projects to the agreed scope, programme and budget
- Coordinating electrical design activities, including control systems and system integration
- Liaising with internal engineering teams, external consultants, contractors and suppliers
- Producing, monitoring and maintaining detailed project schedules
- Providing regular technical and commercial project reporting
- Managing project risks and resolving technical or installation issues
- Controlling project variations, change orders and associated documentation
- Ensuring compliance with relevant electrical regulations and industry standards
- Building strong relationships with clients, M&E contractors and key stakeholders
- Supporting commissioning, testing and final handover activities
- Reviewing and interpreting electrical drawings and schematics
To be considered, you will have:
- A strong technical background in electrical engineering, power systems or control systems
- Proven experience managing electrical or power-related projects
- Experience coordinating M&E contractors, consultants and end users
- Knowledge of generators, switchgear or industrial electrical installations
- Confidence reviewing wiring diagrams, control schematics and technical documentation
- Strong commercial awareness with an understanding of project financials
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; MS Project experience is advantageous
- The ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
- A full UK driving licence
You will be personable, self-motivated and enthusiastic, with the confidence to work independently and communicate effectively across all levels of a project team.
