Senior Business Development Manager – Social Enterprise
Location: Maidstone, Kent (with national travel) Salary: Up to £55,000 plus 10% performance bonus Contract: 12-Month Contract initially to then transition to Permanent
About the Role
Our Client is seeking a commercially driven Senior Business Development Manager to lead profitable new business growth across its Social Enterprise division.
This is a senior, hands-on role focused on developing strategic relationships, securing high-value contracts, and building a strong national sales pipeline.
Working closely with senior leadership, you will take ownership of the complete sales cycle, from identifying opportunities and prospecting through to proposal development, negotiation, contract award, and operational handover.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver agreed revenue and gross margin targets through new business acquisition.
- Create and execute sector-specific business development strategies.
- Build and maintain a strong national pipeline across sectors including construction, infrastructure, transport, defence, and major corporate organisations.
- Win strategic accounts, frameworks, and recurring revenue contracts.
- Develop and present compelling commercial proposals and tender submissions.
- Build relationships with senior procurement, operational, commercial, sustainability, and social value stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively with operations, client services, estimating, and marketing teams to create commercially viable solutions.
- Maintain robust CRM reporting, forecasting, and pipeline management.
- Identify cross-selling opportunities across a broad portfolio of products and services.
- Represent the organisation at industry events, exhibitions, and networking opportunities.
About You
- Proven success in B2B business development and account acquisition.
- Experience managing the full sales cycle from prospecting through to closing.
- Demonstrable success achieving ambitious revenue and margin targets.
- Strong commercial acumen including pricing, negotiation, forecasting, and pipeline management.
- Experience winning strategic accounts and framework agreements.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Self-motivated, resilient, and results-driven with a collaborative approach.
- An understanding of social value, sustainability, or ESG-led procurement would be advantageous.
