About the Client
Our client is a respected multi-disciplinary contractor delivering property, construction and facilities management services across the UK. Known for quality, innovation and strong client relationships, they are continuing to grow and invest in their people.
The Role
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced M&E Quantity Surveyor to join a busy commercial team. You will take ownership of the post-contract commercial management of mechanical and electrical packages across a varied project portfolio, ensuring commercial success and contractual compliance. Working closely with project teams, engineers, subcontractors and stakeholders, you will provide commercial expertise from contract award through to final account.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage cost planning, budget control and financial forecasting
- Prepare valuations, applications for payment and final accounts
- Negotiate contracts, variations and commercial agreements
- Oversee change management and variation control
- Monitor project costs and CVR performance
- Lead subcontractor procurement and contract awards
- Maintain accurate commercial documentation and records
- Provide commercial insight to support project performance
- Ensure compliance with contractual and industry requirements
Skills & Experience
- Previous Quantity Surveying experience within M&E or Building Services
- Strong commercial management experience across live projects
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills
- Knowledge of tendering, estimating and procurement processes
- Understanding of JCT and NEC contract forms
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Competent user of Microsoft Office
- Ability to work independently and within project teams
Qualifications
- Degree, HNC or HND in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical Engineering, Building Services or a related discipline
