Hours: 18 per week (Monday–Wednesday, 9am–4pm)

Role Summary:
Our Client is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to provide essential learning and accessibility support to young people and adults with Special Educational Needs (SEN). You will help learners access their study programmes, college services, and activities, while supporting the development of study skills and personal progression aligned with Education, Health & Care Plans (EHCPs).

This role involves delivering person‑centered learning support to students with severe or complex learning difficulties and disabilities, which may include assisting with personal care. You may support individuals or small groups and encourage engagement, independence, and confidence.

Key Responsibilities:

* Support the educational, social, and personal development of learners with SEN.

* Assist students with mobility, personal care needs, and accessing learning resources.

* Help develop self‑advocacy, independence, and study skills.

* Contribute to learner assessments and person‑centered plans.

* Encourage participation in lessons and practical activities.

* Support sessions in Adult Maths, Functional Skills Maths, GCSE English, and Practical Hair Level 2.

Skills & Experience Required:

* Good literacy and numeracy skills, with a strong understanding of both Maths and GCSE English.

* Ability to build positive working relationships with students, staff, parents/carers, and external agencies.

* Experience working in a multicultural environment.

* Understanding of safeguarding, discrimination issues, and the challenges faced by those with learning difficulties.

* Willingness to assist with personal care and mobility needs.

* Strong communication, interpersonal, organisational, and IT skills.

* Experience supporting SEN learners in FE or secondary education (desirable).
