Freight Sales Consultant Location: East Kent Salary: Basic 30-35k, plus OTE 60k- 90k+ uncapped
We are currently partnering with a well-established and growing transport and distribution business with a strong UK and European presence. As part of their continued expansion, they are looking to appoint a commercially focused freight professional to support growth within their forwarding division. This role combines hands-on freight forwarding with proactive business development, making it well suited to someone who enjoys both the operational and commercial aspects of the industry.
The opportunity is not a purely operational role, nor is it a traditional sales position. You will be responsible for managing freight movements end-to-end while also developing new business across UK and European markets, building relationships with logistics managers, planners, and operational decision-makers. The focus is on identifying and securing smaller, ad-hoc business streams, converting them into repeat clients, and ultimately building your own portfolio.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day freight forwarding operations across air, sea, and road
- Handle quotations, pricing, and supplier negotiations
- Arrange and oversee shipments from enquiry through to delivery
- Liaise with carriers, agents, and customers to ensure smooth movement of goods
