About the Role
Our Client is seeking an experienced and proactive Despatch Team Leader to join their Production team. This is a key role responsible for leading the despatch function, ensuring products are delivered on time, to the highest quality standards, and in line with business priorities. You will lead by example, supporting and developing your team while ensuring operational efficiency and maintaining strong working relationships across departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the despatch team, ensuring daily schedules and priorities are met
- Allocate and prioritise workloads to maximise efficiency and meet delivery targets
- Monitor the quality of all work within the department and ensure high standards are maintained
- Ensure accurate stock handling, booking goods in and out, and maintaining documentation
- Oversee palletising, wrapping, weighing, and movement of goods using appropriate equipment
- Operate forklifts and pallet handling equipment safely and effectively
- Maintain excellent communication with production and other internal teams
- Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety, environmental, and company procedures
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and drive best practice within the department
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment
About You
- Previous experience in a despatch, warehouse, or manufacturing leadership role
- Valid forklift truck licence
- Strong organisational and problem‑solving skills
- Confident with IT systems and documentation processes
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities
- Detail‑focused with a commitment to quality
- Flexible, proactive and able to work under pressure in a fast‑paced environment
