Are you an Electronics Engineer with experience supporting manufacturing, production processes, and new product introduction? Do you enjoy solving technical problems, improving production efficiency, and working closely with both design and manufacturing teams?

Our client is a leading designer and manufacturer of advanced electro-optical and electronic systems used in defence, security, and surveillance applications worldwide. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an Electronics Production Engineer to support the manufacture and introduction of complex electronic products.

The Role

Reporting to the Production Engineering Team Leader, you will act as the key link between engineering design and manufacturing, ensuring products can be built efficiently, consistently, and to the highest quality standards. You will support new product introduction activities, develop manufacturing processes and tooling, resolve production issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and improve manufacturing processes for electronic products
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and Design for Manufacture (DFM) activities
  • Create production documentation, build instructions, route cards, and technical procedures
  • Design and maintain manufacturing tooling, jigs, fixtures, and test equipment
  • Support Transfer of Technology (ToT) projects
  • Investigate production faults and carry out root cause analysis
  • Develop corrective actions to improve quality and reliability
  • Produce technical reports, specifications, and engineering documentation
  • Support automation and process improvement initiatives
  • Work closely with Design, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams
  • Drive continuous improvement activities focused on efficiency, quality, and cost reduction

What We're Looking For

  • Experience within electronics manufacturing, production engineering, or manufacturing engineering
  • Knowledge of electronic assembly processes and production methods
  • Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI)
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Experience developing manufacturing documentation and work instructions
  • Understanding of continuous improvement methodologies
  • Ability to work across multiple engineering disciplines
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience with test equipment, jigs, fixtures, or production tooling would be advantageous
  • Eligibility to obtain SC Security Clearance is essential
