Deputy Director of Finance Location: Fully Remote, with occasional travel to Dover Rate: £600 per day Contract: Fixed-term contract until February 2027 About the Role Our Client is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Deputy Director of Finance to provide strategic and operational financial leadership within a growing social enterprise environment. This is a senior leadership position, offering the opportunity to influence financial strategy, support sustainable growth, and drive informed decision-making across the organisation. Working closely with the CEO, Senior Leadership Team, and Finance function, you will translate financial insight into meaningful business outcomes, helping to ensure long-term financial sustainability while supporting wider organisational objectives. Key Responsibilities * Partner with senior leaders and budget holders to develop budgets, forecasts, and performance measures. * Provide strategic financial analysis to support investment decisions, business planning, and service development. * Monitor financial performance, identifying risks and opportunities while recommending corrective actions. * Develop pricing models and cost recovery strategies for commercial contracts. * Ensure compliance with financial policies, regulatory requirements, and contractual obligations. * Prepare and present management accounts, variance analysis, forecasts, and board-level financial reports. * Support the delivery of annual budgets, strategic planning, and long-term financial modelling. * Collaborate with wider finance teams to ensure consistency of governance and reporting. * Lead external audit activities and coordinate financial reporting requirements. * Contribute to funding applications, business cases, and social impact reporting where required. About You * Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent), or finalist with significant relevant experience. * Experience in managing a team remotely. * Strong background in budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, and commercial finance. * Experience working at a senior level, partnering with leadership teams and non-finance stakeholders. * Excellent analytical and communication skills with the ability to influence decision-making. * Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial systems and reporting tools. * Experience presenting financial information to senior leaders, boards, or executive teams. * Ability to work independently in a remote environment while building strong stakeholder relationships.
