Estates Technician – Electrical Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk Salary: £14.32 Location: Suffolk Full Time | Temporary The Role Our client is seeking a skilled Estates Technician - Electrical to join their busy Estates team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced maintenance professional to work across a diverse estate, supporting the safe and efficient operation of essential engineering services and building infrastructure. You will carry out planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs, fault finding and installation work across a wide range of electrical and mechanical building services equipment. Working as part of a multi-skilled team, you will help ensure critical systems remain fully operational while maintaining the highest standards of safety and compliance. Key Responsibilities * Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on building services systems. * Diagnose faults and undertake repairs on electrical installations, lighting, power and control systems. * Support maintenance of HVAC, steam, hot water, plumbing and specialist engineering systems. * Complete commissioning, testing and inspection activities. * Follow engineering drawings, specifications and maintenance procedures. * Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, HTMs and health & safety standards. * Complete maintenance records, job sheets and certification documentation. * Liaise with departments to arrange access and minimise disruption. * Participate in emergency response activities when required. * Support apprentices, trainees and maintenance assistants with technical guidance. * Participate in the on-call rota following training. * Work one weekend day per month, receiving a day in lieu the following week. What We're Looking For * Must have Level 3 Qualifications / AM 1 and 2 * Experience in maintenance, fault finding and repair of building services systems. * Knowledge of health and safety legislation and safe systems of work. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Good communication and problem-solving skills. * Experience within healthcare, facilities management, industrial or commercial environments would be advantageous. * Flexibility to participate in out-of-hours and on-call duties when required.
