Hours: 26 per week (Monday–Thursday)

Role Summary:
Our Client is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a learner with an Education, Health & Care Plan (EHCP). You will play a vital role in ensuring learners with Special Educational Needs (SEN) can fully access their study programmes, college services, and wider learning activities.

You will deliver person‑centred support to students with severe or complex learning difficulties and disabilities. This may include assisting with personal care, mobility, and encouraging learners to engage with tasks either independently or within small groups.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide 1:1 learning support for an EHCP learner.

* Support learners’ access to classes, services, and college‑led activities.

* Assist in developing study skills and supporting progress toward EHCP outcomes.

* Encourage independence, engagement, and participation in learning.

* Support learners with personal care and mobility needs when required.

* Help maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment.

Skills & Experience Required:

* Adults barred list required on DBS.

* Strong literacy and numeracy skills.

* Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with learners, staff, parents/carers, and external agencies.

* Experience working in a multicultural environment.

* Understanding of safeguarding, discrimination issues, and SEN‑related challenges.

* Willingness to assist with personal care needs.

* Excellent communication, interpersonal, organisational, and IT skills.

* Experience supporting SEN learners in FE or secondary education (desirable).
