Job Title: Head of ALS - Permanent Position
Location: Southend-on-Sea,
The Role
- Oversee the Additional Learning Support department, ensuring adherence to educational standards.
- Provide leadership and guidance to a team of professionals dedicated to student support.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance the learning experience for students requiring additional support.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of support services and make recommendations for improvement.
- Collaborate with academic staff to promote inclusive teaching practices.
The Person
- Proven leadership experience within an educational setting.
- Strong understanding of educational standards and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
- Relevant degree in Education, Special Educational Needs, or a related field.
- Professional teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed) is desirable.
- Experience in a leadership role within a Further Education institution.
- Experience working with students with additional learning needs.
- Demonstrated ability to implement effective support strategies.
