A very successful MEP & Sustainability consultancy with a strong presence across the UK. A premium brand in the industry, known for their training and development with a solid track record of project delivery across sectors such as Healthcare, Education, Data Centres, Leisure and more. They are currently seeking an experienced mechanical candidate at either Senior or Principal level to join their modern, open plan Edinburgh city centre office.

Role

  • Lead the mechanical building services design on projects from concept through to completion.
  • Prepare and review detailed designs for HVAC, heating, cooling, ventilation, domestic water, drainage, and associated systems.
  • Produce and coordinate technical calculations, specifications, schedules, reports, and drawings.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary design teams, clients, architects, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Attend client meetings and provide technical guidance throughout project delivery.
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant UK standards, regulations, and sustainability requirements.
  • Support and mentor junior engineers and technicians.
  • Carry out site inspections, surveys, and technical reviews as required.
  • Contribute to project planning, resource management, and commercial performance.

Responsibilities

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Proven experience within a building services consultancy or contractor design environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of HVAC and mechanical building systems.
  • Experience delivering projects across RIBA work stages.
  • Proficient with industry software such as Hevacomp, IES, Revit, AutoCAD, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of UK Building Regulations and CIBSE standards.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to manage workload independently and lead project delivery.
