Procurement Specialist

Morgan Hunt are delighted to be supporting our Public Sector clients in South England in the search for a Procurement Specialist on a full time and permanent basis.

This role is ideally suited for public sector experienced candidates who thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy both strategic and hands-on procurement work, and are passionate about making a positive impact with the opportunity to progress and learn from an experienced Procurement Manager.

Role Responsibilities

  • Manage full end-to-end procurement processes across a range of categories and projects.
  • Ensure full compliance with relevant public sector legislation
  • Draft and issue tender documentation, including specifications, evaluation criteria, and contract terms.
  • Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to define procurement needs and project timelines.
  • Evaluate supplier responses, support moderation sessions, and draft award documentation.
  • Contribute to supplier onboarding and contract mobilisation activities.
  • Monitor supplier performance and support contract management as required.
  • Promote social value, sustainability, and efficiency in all procurement activity.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records for audit and reporting purposes.

Candidate Requirements

  • Proven experience in a procurement role, especially within the public sector
  • Strong understanding of Procurement Act 2023.
  • Ability to manage multiple procurement exercises concurrently.
  • Experience with procurement systems.
  • Strong attention to detail, documentation, and compliance.
  • A CIPS qualification (or studying towards) is desirable but not essential.
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid working environment.
