Alliance Homes is a purpose‑led, community‑based housing provider in the Southwest, owning and managing over 8,000 homes and supporting nearly 12,000 customers. With a strong reputation for customer focus and service delivery, we are now looking to strengthen our Board with the appointment of a Non‑Executive Director with deep expertise in asset management, bringing a commercial, private sector‑informed perspective to our long‑term investment and asset strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic oversight and constructive challenge on asset management, investment and portfolio performance.
  • Support the organisation in balancing customer outcomes, regulatory compliance and commercial sustainability.
  • Bring an externally informed perspective, drawing on private sector experience to enhance decision‑making and asset optimisation.
  • Contribute to Board and Committee discussions, ensuring robust governance and risk management.

Qualifications

  • Significant and recent experience in social housing asset management, ideally at a strategic level.
  • A private sector or commercial background, with experience of driving asset performance, investment decisions or portfolio optimisation.
  • Strong financial and commercial acumen, with the ability to interrogate complex investment proposals.
  • The confidence to provide independent challenge and support at Board level.
  • A collaborative approach, aligned with a values‑driven organisation.
