About the RoleMorgan Hunt is working with FE colleges in Guildford who are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated GCSE Maths Lecturer to join their teaching team. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and high-quality Maths teaching to learners aged 16+ who are studying GCSE Mathematics as part of their academic or vocational programmes.

You will play a key role in supporting students to achieve their potential, whether they are resitting GCSE Maths to improve their grades or taking it as part of their progression pathway.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality GCSE Mathematics lessons in line with the curriculum.

Create engaging and differentiated learning materials to meet diverse learner needs, including those with additional learning support requirements.

Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely feedback and interventions to help learners achieve their target grades.

Use a range of teaching strategies and digital tools to support learning and engagement.

Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and assessment outcomes in accordance with college policies.

Contribute to curriculum planning, resource development, and quality improvement processes.

Support learners\’ personal development, behaviour, and welfare in line with safeguarding and equality guidelines.

Participate in team meetings, staff development sessions, and college events as required.

Qualifications

A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, or equivalent) or willingness to work towards one.

A degree in Mathematics or a related subject, or equivalent professional qualification.

Proven experience teaching GCSE Maths, preferably in a Further Education or secondary school setting.

Strong understanding of GCSE Maths curriculum and assessment requirements.

Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills.

Commitment to inclusive teaching practices and supporting learners from diverse backgrounds.
