Morgan Hunt is working with a national regulator to find an Interim Senior Education Quality & Supervision Officer for a fixed‑term role (15 months) focused on the supervision and quality assurance of professional education and training providers. This is a highly engaging, front‑facing position that offers an excellent opportunity for a candidate with strong higher education quality assurance, professional qualifications or regulatory oversight experience to step into a visible role within a respected regulatory environment.

In this role you will manage a portfolio of regulated stakeholders, primarily vocational training providers delivering professional qualifications, and act as the key relationship lead. Oversight of supervision and quality assurance activity, assessment of intelligence and reports, maintenance of risk profiles, and determination of appropriate next steps where concerns arise are central responsibilities. You will work closely with training providers, academic stakeholders, and external examiners to review quality reports, assessment outcomes, reflective reviews, and regulatory intelligence, ensuring that educational standards are maintained.

You need a strong understanding of the relationship between assessment, quality assurance and professional education standards, and the ability to assess risk proportionately and engage credibly with senior stakeholders. Additionally, you will respond to concerns relating to regulated individuals, organisations or training providers, assess incoming intelligence, determine appropriate action, and manage matters through to resolution. Alongside core casework, you will contribute to wider regulatory improvement initiatives and project‑based work.

The successful candidate will bring experience from higher education, further education, awarding bodies, qualifications or education quality assurance environments. You will be confident managing stakeholder relationships, interpreting complex information, and making balanced, evidence‑based decisions in a fast‑paced setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of regulated stakeholders, with a focus on professional training providers.
  • Lead supervision and quality assurance activity using a risk‑based regulatory approach.
  • Review intelligence, reports, assessment outcomes and reflective reviews to identify emerging risks.
  • Work closely with training providers and external examiners to ensure educational quality standards are maintained.
  • Assess concerns relating to providers, regulated individuals or organisations and determine appropriate next steps.
  • Develop and manage proportionate action plans through to resolution.
  • Maintain accurate risk profiles, regulatory records and case documentation.
  • Conduct desk‑based reviews and on‑site quality visits where required.
  • Support wider regulatory improvement and project‑based initiatives.
Candidate Profile
  • Essential: Experience within higher education, further education, awarding bodies, professional qualifications or education quality assurance environments.
  • Strong understanding of the relationship between assessment, quality assurance and educational standards.
  • Experience overseeing or supporting professional qualifications, vocational training or regulated education provision.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with credibility working in external‑facing roles.
  • Ability to assess risk, interpret complex information and make evidence‑based decisions.
  • Excellent organisation, prioritisation and attention to detail.
  • Able to manage a varied workload independently and hit the ground running.
  • Regulatory supervision experience desirable, but not essential where education quality expertise is strong.
