Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging Residential Childcare and Childcare lessons to Further Education students.
- Plan, prepare and deliver lessons in line with curriculum and awarding body requirements.
- Teach relevant theoretical and practical aspects of childcare and residential childcare.
- Assess learner work and provide constructive feedback to support progress.
- Monitor learner achievement and maintain accurate student records.
- Prepare schemes of work, lesson plans and teaching materials.
- Support learners with their academic and professional development.
- Promote positive behaviour, engagement and learner progression.
- Contribute to curriculum development and quality improvement.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and support staff.
- Ensure safeguarding, equality, health and safety and college policies are followed.
About You
We're looking for someone who has:
- Relevant teaching experience within Childcare, Residential Childcare or a related subject.
- Strong knowledge of childcare and residential childcare practices.
- Relevant industry experience within the childcare sector.
- Experience delivering engaging lessons to Further Education learners.
- Excellent communication, classroom management and organisational skills.
- The ability to assess learner work and provide effective feedback.
- A genuine passion for supporting learners to achieve their potential.
- A relevant teaching qualification would be desirable.
