As part of the IT Commercial Project Team, you will play a key role in defining and delivering major projects that support the University's strategic goals and long-term ambitions. Working closely with senior stakeholders, including members of the Senior Leadership Group, you will gather requirements, develop detailed project specifications, and oversee delivery throughout the full project lifecycle.

Reporting to the IT Project Team Manager, you will lead large-scale initiatives that drive transformational change across the University. Projects will often involve cloud-based technologies and SaaS solutions designed to enhance digital capability and service delivery.
You will be responsible for maintaining strong stakeholder engagement across the University, ensuring support and alignment throughout project delivery. The role also involves working with external suppliers and technical specialists to implement solutions that are flexible, scalable, and deliver value for money. Working closely with the IT Portfolio PMO, you will ensure projects follow appropriate governance frameworks and delivery standards. You may also partner with the Strategic PMO to support the technical delivery of key institutional initiatives.
Background and Experience Required:
- Significant experience delivering enterprise-wide systems and applications, such as Student Information Systems or ERP platforms, with a strong emphasis on enabling business transformation.
- Proven success in leading complex IT projects, including planning, risk management, stakeholder engagement, and delivery within large or complex organisations.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong working relationships across IT teams and wider organisational communities within both traditional and matrix structures.
- Extensive experience managing competing priorities, controlling budgets, and communicating effectively to ensure successful project implementation and support broader strategic objectives.
- Experience of public sector procurement processes would be advantageous.
