We're recruiting a Director of Student Support & Inclusion to join the College Leadership Team of a forward-thinking Further Education provider. This is a strategic leadership opportunity to shape and transform student support services across multiple campuses, ensuring every learner receives the support they need to achieve their full potential.

About the Role

Reporting to the Deputy Principal, you'll lead the strategic development of an integrated student support model, bringing together safeguarding, SEND, wellbeing, tutorial, careers, enrichment and student services to improve the learner experience and outcomes. This is a highly influential role where you'll work collaboratively with curriculum and senior leaders to develop services that improve attendance, engagement, retention, achievement and progression, while ensuring the college continues to meet its statutory responsibilities and remains inspection ready.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership across student support, safeguarding, SEND, inclusion, wellbeing, careers, tutorial and student services.
  • Develop and implement a whole-college student support and inclusion strategy aligned to organisational priorities.
  • Lead high-performing multidisciplinary teams, driving a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee safeguarding, student welfare and inclusive practice, ensuring compliance with statutory responsibilities.
  • Use data and performance insight to identify priorities, target interventions and improve learner outcomes.
  • Lead the strategic development of tutorial, student progress and personal development programmes.
  • Build strong partnerships with curriculum teams, local authorities and external agencies to support learners with additional needs.
  • Provide assurance and strategic reporting to senior leaders and governors on student outcomes, quality and compliance.

About You

We're looking for an inspirational senior leader who can demonstrate:

  • Significant leadership experience within Further Education, student support, safeguarding, SEND or inclusion.
  • A track record of developing and implementing successful organisational strategies that improve learner outcomes.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams through change, service improvement and transformation.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding, SEND legislation and inclusive practice.
  • The ability to use data to drive strategic decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Outstanding communication, stakeholder engagement and leadership skills.
  • A genuine commitment to improving the lives, experiences and outcomes of learners.
