Finance Business Partner required for our client a leading UK regulator.
As Finance Business Partner you will be employed on a 12-month fixed-term contract, this is a hybrid role with 40% of time in the office and 60% working from home.
The role is based in Manchester.
The role
Interim Finance Business Partner will provide maternity cover for approximately 12-14 months.
The successful candidate will be confident working with senior stakeholders, able to operate with minimal supervision and comfortable delivering high-quality financial insight in a fast-paced environment.
The role will provide strategic financial support to senior budget holders across both corporate and operational areas.
Working within a small public sector organisation, you will have the opportunity to work across a diverse range of business areas, influence financial decision‑making, and provide valuable insight to support effective financial management.
You will also play an important role in strengthening financial capability, improving processes and supporting the organisation's continued development and financial performance.
- Main Responsibilities
- Act as the primary Finance Business Partner for assigned business areas, building strong relationships with senior stakeholders and budget holders.
- Provide financial insight, challenge and advice to support effective, evidence-based decision-making.
- Lead monthly budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis, working closely with budget holders to manage financial performance.
- Produce accurate monthly management accounts, financial reports and management information for senior leadership and governance committees.
- Develop financial dashboards, modelling and reporting tools to improve visibility and support decision-making.
- Ensure financial activity complies with internal controls, delegated authorities and relevant HM Treasury requirements.
- Support audit, year-end and Annual Report and Accounts processes.
- Work collaboratively across Finance to improve financial processes, data quality and forecasting.
- Provide financial guidance and training to colleagues across the organisation.
Qualifications and skills
- Demonstrable experience as a Finance Business Partner or senior management accountant, ideally with public sector experience
- CCAB (or CIMA) qualified accountant or part-qualified.
- Track record of quickly building credibility and influence with senior non-finance stakeholders
