Morgan Hunt is delighted to be working with a leading Further Education provider to recruit an experienced Sports Lecturer for a temporary opportunity in Surrey.

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Sports Lecturer to deliver engaging, high-quality teaching across sports-related programmes. The successful candidate will have strong subject knowledge and a passion for sport, with the ability to support learners in developing the theoretical understanding and practical skills required to progress into further study or employment within the sports and fitness industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons across sports-related courses and qualifications.
- Prepare schemes of learning, lesson plans and teaching resources in line with curriculum and awarding body requirements.
- Deliver practical and theoretical sessions covering relevant sports, fitness and physical activity topics.
- Support learners in developing their practical skills, subject knowledge and understanding of the sports industry.
- Assess learner progress, mark assignments and provide constructive feedback to support achievement.
- Monitor attendance, progress and performance, maintaining accurate learner records.
- Support learners with their personal development and progression into further study or careers within sport, coaching and fitness.
- Create an inclusive and supportive learning environment that encourages participation and achievement.
- Ensure practical activities are delivered safely and comply with health and safety, safeguarding and college policies.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience teaching or lecturing in Sport, Sports Studies, Sports Science, or a related subject.
- Strong subject knowledge and an understanding of the sports and fitness industry.
- The ability to plan and deliver engaging practical and classroom-based lessons.
- Experience assessing learner work, monitoring progress, and providing constructive feedback.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and classroom management skills.
- A commitment to learner achievement, development, and progression.
- A relevant sports-related qualification and an appropriate teaching qualification, where required.
- An understanding of safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion within an educational setting.
