Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated learning programmes for learners with high needs and PMLD. Adapt teaching, activities and resources to meet individual learning needs and abilities.
- Develop learners' communication, independence, confidence and life skills alongside their academic/vocational development.
- Work closely with Learning Support Assistants, therapists, parents/carers and other professionals. Monitor, assess and record learner progress against individual targets and EHCP outcomes.
- Use appropriate communication strategies and sensory approaches to support engagement. Promote positive behaviour and maintain a calm, safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Support learners with personal development, wellbeing and preparation for adulthood. Contribute to reviews, EHCP planning and multidisciplinary meetings where required.
- Maintain accurate learner records and comply with safeguarding, health & safety and college policies. Continually adapt provision based on learner progress, needs and feedback..
Requirements
- Teaching experience within an educational or FE Colleges.
- Teaching qualification such as PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS or equivalent, or willingness to work towards one.
- Must have Enhanced Child and Adult DBS on the update service.
