Lead Support Worker - Mobile Intervention Support Team (MIST)

Location: London

Start: 2nd November 2026

Duration: Temporary ongoing

Rate: £18 PAYE + Holiday Pay

The Role

Thames Reach are looking for an experienced Lead Support Worker to join the MIST team during a particularly busy period.

MIST supports clients moving into temporary accommodation (TA), helping them stabilise their circumstances and progress towards move-on and sustainable housing.

With the City opening new temporary accommodation, the team is expecting a significant increase in workload. We're therefore looking for someone reliable, experienced and confident who can hit the ground running and provide additional support during this busy period.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of clients with complex needs
  • Support clients living in temporary accommodation
  • Develop and monitor move-on plans
  • Support around substance misuse, mental health, immigration and housing
  • Liaise with commissioners and partner agencies, providing updates on client progress
  • Maintain accurate case notes and support plans
  • Identify and manage safeguarding/risk issues
  • Provide experienced support to the wider team during a busy period

You’ll Need

  • Experience in homelessness, supported accommodation, outreach or resettlement
  • Experience holding a complex caseload
  • Strong understanding of move-on and housing pathways
  • Confident working with commissioners and external agencies
  • Reliable, organised and able to hit the ground running
  • Strong communication and case-management skills

Ideal for an experienced Homelessness Support Worker, Lead Worker, Resettlement Worker, Outreach Worker or Floating Support Worker.
