Morgan Hunt is recruiting a Communication Support Worker to support deaf and hearing-impaired learners aged 16-19 within a further education college in East London.
This is an opportunity to help learners access their education, participate in college life and develop their confidence and independence.
The role
- Provide communication support using British Sign Language during lessons and college activities.
- Support learners in understanding teaching materials, instructions and discussions.
- Facilitate communication between learners, teaching staff and their peers.
- Work closely with lecturers and learning support staff to meet individual support needs.
- Encourage learner participation, independence and progression.
- Promote safeguarding, inclusion and learner wellbeing.
What we're looking for
- A BSL Level 3 qualification is essential.
- Experience supporting deaf or hearing-impaired learners.
- An understanding of the barriers learners may face in an educational setting.
- Strong communication skills and a patient, adaptable approach.
- A commitment to safeguarding and creating an inclusive learning environment.
