An established and growing engineering consultancy is looking to expand it's energy and sustainability offering and recruit a Building Performance Engineer to join its Glasgow team.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects, helping to deliver sustainable, energy-efficient buildings from concept through to completion.
The successful candidate will play a key role in building performance analysis, supporting design teams with energy modelling, thermal comfort assessments, and sustainability strategies to help meet regulatory requirements and achieve low-carbon design objectives.
Key Responsibilities Carry out dynamic thermal modelling using industry-standard software.
Produce energy and building performance assessments to support planning and compliance.
Undertake overheating, daylight, and thermal comfort analyses.
Support the delivery of net zero and low-carbon design strategies.
Work closely with mechanical, electrical, and sustainability engineers throughout project lifecycles.
Prepare clear technical reports and communicate findings to project teams and clients.
Keep up to date with UK building regulations, energy standards, and best practice guidance.
About You Degree qualified in Building Services Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Sustainability, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience in building performance modelling within a consultancy environment.
Proficient with software such as IES VE, Design Builder, or equivalent modelling tools.
Good understanding of UK Building Regulations, Part L, TM52, TM54, TM59, and energy compliance methodologies.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
