This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Legal Cashier to join a collaborative, forward-thinking firm that combines the quality and resources of a large practice with the culture and approachability of a smaller one.
The Role
This position plays a key role in supporting the firm's finance operations, ensuring the smooth and compliant handling of client and office account activity. You will work closely with stakeholders across the business, contributing to both operational efficiency and regulatory compliance. This role is based in Redhill, Surrey with 3 days in the office, 2 from home.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing daily financial transactions across client and office accounts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Performing regular bank reconciliations and investigating discrepancies
- Processing a high volume of incoming and outgoing payments, including domestic and international transfers
- Supporting billing processes, including bill approvals, adjustments, and reconciliations
- Ensuring all financial activity complies with SRA Accounts Rules and internal compliance procedures
- Monitoring transactions to identify potential risk or irregular activity
- Liaising with partners, fee earners, and support staff to resolve financial queries efficiently
- Supporting audits and contributing to ongoing process improvements
- Maintaining accurate financial records using legal accounting and case management systems
About You
- Experience working as a Legal Cashier within a law firm is ideal
- Ideally some knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules
- Experience using legal accounting and case management systems
- Excellent Excel skills, including pivot tables
- Highly organised, detail-focused, and able to meet tight deadlines
- Comfortable working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and client care skills
