Morgan Hunt are working with a large public sector organisation to recruit a Business Intelligence Developer on a 12‑month FTC. The focus of the role is to provide technical expertise to deliver effective BI systems across the data functions within the organisation. The focus is to ensure that the organisation develops a strong internal data‑related BI environment to inform decisions, shape strategic priorities and evaluate the impact of the work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical BI skills to the organisation, ensuring these align with their strategic plan and wider objectives.
  • Design, build and maintain BI solutions, including dashboards, reports and data visualisations in PowerBI or equivalent platforms.
  • Write complex SQL queries to extract data from multiple sources.
  • Develop and maintain efficient PowerBI data models.
  • Develop and document KPI's and definitions to support transparency and compliance.
  • Support the data architecture team to enhance the accuracy of data held in the data warehouse/data lake.
  • When necessary, provide line management and deputise for senior colleagues.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Extensive experience developing PowerBI reports, dashboards, advanced DAX expressions and data models.
  • Strong understanding of relational databases and excellent SQL skills.
  • Advanced understanding of data visualisation concepts and best practice.
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficient with pivot tables, SUMIF, COUNTIF, SUMPRODUCT, lookups, advanced filters, VBA etc.
  • Strong communication, problem solving and analytical skills.

£45k – £52k per year
12‑month FTC
London based office – one day per week office attendance.
