Outreach Worker required for Newham Based: Across 3 Hubs - Newham, Canning Town, Stratford and Manor Park.

Start: ASAP

Duration: 1 month

Pay: £15.50 + HP / £19.50 LTD

We are looking for a committed and resilient Outreach Worker to join our team and support some of the most vulnerable members of the Newham community. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role ideal for someone passionate about helping individuals with complex needs move away from rough sleeping and towards safer, more stable lives.

Shift Requirements: Monday - Friday 9am to 5pm

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Approaching and engaging with rough sleepers across Newham
  • Working in partnership with local homeless services, police, and community wardens
  • Linking individuals with relevant services and support pathways
  • Supporting clients into temporary accommodation
  • Conducting screening, assessments, recovery planning, and referrals
  • Reducing drug and alcohol-related harm to individuals and the wider community
  • Helping service users access accommodation, health care, substance use services, benefits and more
  • Supporting social reintegration and encouraging recovery, resilience, peer support, and independence
  • Working outdoors in all weather, including early mornings, nights, and weekends

About You:

You’ll be engaging with people who have a history of rough sleeping, substance misuse, and multiple complex needs. You should demonstrate a determined, compassionate approach and be comfortable working in challenging environments. You will need knowledge or experience in at least one of the following:

  • Homelessness
  • Mental health
  • Substance misuse
  • Criminal Justice System
