Full‑time (37 hours per week) £28,056 – £34,492 per annum 44 days holiday (including bank holidays)

About the Role

As a Lecturer in Sport you will deliver engaging and high‑quality teaching across sport programmes, supporting students to develop both their academic knowledge and practical skills. You will also act as a course tutor, supporting student progress, wellbeing and achievement while contributing to the development of an engaging and industry‑led curriculum.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high‑quality teaching across sport courses to a range of learners
  • Act as a course tutor, monitoring student progress, attendance and achievement
  • Support and motivate students to achieve their full potential
  • Contribute to curriculum development aligned to industry needs
  • Deliver practical sessions, demonstrations and coaching activities
  • Participate in student recruitment activities such as open days and events
  • Support quality assurance processes including internal verification
  • Promote safeguarding, wellbeing, equality, diversity and inclusion across all activities

About You

You will be an enthusiastic and knowledgeable individual with experience in the sports industry. Whether you are already teaching or looking to transition into education, you will be confident delivering engaging content and motivating students. You will be organised, adaptable and passionate about helping learners progress into further study or careers in sport.

Essential Requirements

  • BSc in a Sport‑related subject (or equivalent)
  • GCSE Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent)
  • Industry experience within sport, fitness or coaching
  • Experience delivering practical sport activities or coaching
  • Willingness to work towards a teaching qualification
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to motivate and engage learners

Desirable

  • Postgraduate qualification (MSc/MA/PhD)
  • Industry qualifications (e.g. personal training, coaching badges)
  • Experience working within Further or Higher Education
  • Assessor/IQA qualifications
