Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 or small-group mentoring focused on study skills, organization, time management, and exam preparation.
- Support learners to set goals, track progress, and reflect on their learning journey.
- Assist with understanding assignment briefs, planning work, and developing independent learning skills.
- Identify learners' needs and create personalized support plans.
- Support learners transitioning into FE or progressing to higher levels or employment.
- Offer guidance and a safe, supportive environment where learners can discuss concerns.
- Build positive, professional relationships that promote confidence and resilience.
- Recognize indicators of mental health or safeguarding concerns and escalate appropriately.
- Promote attendance, punctuality, and positive behaviour.
- Work closely with teaching staff to identify learners who require additional support.
- Contribute to multi-disciplinary meetings regarding learner progress.
- Liaise with external agencies where necessary (e.g., social services, youth support, careers teams).
- Maintain accurate records of mentoring sessions, progress, and interventions.
