This organisation creates mechanical and electrical design engineering solutions for sectors across the built environment, including Education, Commercial, Hotel & Leisure, and more. In recent years sustainability has been at the core of all projects, building a strong track record for environmentally friendly and cost-effective engineering solutions. The business is well‑known for its supportive, trusting, social working environment and is currently seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join its Glasgow office. This role provides an excellent opportunity for an individual keen to progress to Associate, working in a supportive organisation that will provide the tools and support needed to achieve that goal.
Role: This Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for comprehensive electrical design, client representation, and site oversight in large-scale projects. Key duties include:
- Designing power, earthing, lighting, life safety, telecoms, security, access control, lifts, lightning protection, and other systems;
- Producing detailed calculations with industry-standard software (Excel, Dialux, Amtech, in-house tools);
- Representing the organisation at client and contractor meetings;
- Conducting site surveys, inspections, and monitoring;
- Writing reports and technical notes;
- Maintaining complete records and archives;
- Adhering to all quality, environmental, and governance processes.
Qualifications / Experience: Degree qualified or equivalent qualification in Building Services Engineering / Electrical Engineering. Ideally chartered or working towards chartership with CIBSE or IET. 5‑10 years experience working in a design consultancy or a similar environment. Knowledge of electrical design within the built environment. Good report writing skills, experience of making presentations to and attending meetings with clients. Detailed knowledge of appropriate technical standards, able to take charge of project deliverables, make decisions, act on own initiative. Good level of computer literacy in a range of digital tools such as Trimble, Dialux, Excel etc.
