Morgan Hunt are currently supporting a leading charity, as they continue a major period of IT transformation. This role reports directly to the CIO and is responsible for shaping, building and maturing the entire Cyber Security function. It includes leadership of the Information Security team and close collaboration across all directorates.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the Cyber Security function, growing visibility, maturity and organisational resilience.
- Manage and enhance the relationship with a 3rd-party SOC provider - strong vendor management is essential.
- Drive delivery of cyber best practices, risk reduction, and strategic planning.
- Build and embed security processes, policies and procedures across the organisation.
- Oversee disaster recovery planning and continuous improvement activities.
- Support ISO27001 and Cyber Essentials readiness and implementation.
- Lead, coach and develop the security team, ensuring strong communication and performance management.
Essential Experience & Skills
- Proven experience leading an IT Cyber Security team.
- Strong background in managing 3rd-party security partners (SOC, MDR, tooling providers).
- Experience delivering cyber security strategy, best practice, and vulnerability management plans.
- Ability to translate technical information for non-technical audiences.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and report-writing skills.
- Knowledge of the full IT delivery lifecycle.
- Experience creating and implementing organisational cyber policies.
- Ideally exposure to ISO 27001 / Cyber Essentials frameworks.
