We are recruiting for a Young Persons Substance Use Practitioner to join a dedicated service supporting young people affected by drug and alcohol use. This role focuses on delivering high-quality, person-centred interventions to help young individuals achieve positive and sustainable outcomes. You will play a key role in engaging young people, supporting their recovery journey, and working collaboratively with families, carers, and partner agencies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of young people, delivering assessments, care planning, and structured interventions
  • Provide 1:1 and group psychosocial interventions tailored to young people's needs
  • Deliver harm reduction advice, including substance misuse education and overdose prevention
  • Support young people in accessing education, training, employment, and wellbeing services
  • Work closely with families, carers, and external agencies to ensure holistic support
  • Identify safeguarding concerns and take appropriate action in line with policies
  • Maintain accurate and timely case records using case management systems
  • Contribute to multi-disciplinary meetings and reviews
  • Work flexibly across sites where required

What We're Looking For

  • Experience working with young people, substance misuse, or other vulnerable groups
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and risk management, particularly for young people
  • Ability to engage and build rapport with young individuals and their families
  • Experience delivering structured interventions and support planning
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
  • Ability to manage a caseload and meet deadlines under pressure
  • Good IT skills (e.g., Microsoft Office, case management systems such as Nebula, SystemOne, or Theseus)
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health
